Who we are

iKnow Art is a marketplace where independent artists sell original work, prints and merchandise, run StudioDrops (timed auctions) and take commissions, with part of many sales going to charity causes. iKnow Art LLC operates the service and is responsible for your personal information. Information we collect

You give us:

• Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed), profile photo and the role you pick (collector or artist).
• Shipping and pickup details: name, address, phone number.
• Artist details: studio name, bio, photos of your work, product listings, prices, and the information Stripe needs to pay you.
• Messages you send to artists or to our support team, and commission requests.
• Marketing choices: whether you want our emails or text messages.

From social sign-in: if you sign in with Google, TikTok, Facebook or Instagram, we receive the basic profile that service shares with your permission. That is usually your name, profile photo and a unique account ID, and your email address where the service provides one. Instagram and TikTok don't share email addresses. We never receive your password for those services, and we don't post on your behalf.

Automatically: sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, basic device and log information (browser, pages requested, errors) used to run and secure the service, and your approximate location from a ZIP code you enter when you search for local pickup.

Payments: card details are entered directly with Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a reference to your Stripe customer and saved card so you can check out and bid.

How we use it

• To create and secure your account and sign you in.
• To process orders, bids, payments, refunds, shipping, local pickup and print-on-demand production.
• To pay artists and the charity causes attached to sales.
• To send order receipts, shipping updates, auction results and account notices.
• To send marketing emails or texts, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
• To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To improve the service and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run iKnow Art:

• Artists you buy from: your name, shipping or pickup details and order contents, so they can fulfil your order.
• Service providers that process data for us under contract: Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and artist payouts), Resend (transactional email), Klaviyo (marketing email and SMS, if you opted in), Shippo and Uber Direct (shipping and local delivery), Printful and Lulu (print-on-demand production and delivery), and AI image and text providers used in the artist studio tools.
• Sign-in providers (Google, TikTok, Meta), only to complete the sign-in you requested.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with notice to you).

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to make checkout and sign-in work. We also use a short-lived cookie that remembers your email preference while you sign up. We don't use third-party advertising cookies. Embedded content, such as shoppable videos and maps, may set its own cookies under the provider's policy.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days. We keep order, payment and payout records as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically up to 7 years, and only for that purpose.

Your choices and rights

• Update your profile and addresses in your account at any time.
• Turn marketing emails and texts off in Profile, or with the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
• Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. See Delete your data or email social@iknowart.com.
• Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights: to know what we collect, to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We will respond within the time the law requires and may need to verify your identity first.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect misuse of your account.

Children

iKnow Art is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy, bid or sell. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

iKnow Art is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the U.S. and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app.
